Student Information

Digital game and AR/VR industries are experiencing significant growth and are predicted to be among the fastest growing agencies and studios. These industries already generate more revenue than film box-office receipts and the music industry. Texas is home to the second largest concentration of digital game studios in the U.S., and Austin has more than the rest of the state combined! The Game Development and Design Program at the University of Texas at Austin will challenge you to develop your design, development, asset creation, and leadership skills while maximizing your opportunity for visibility among Austin-area industry professionals.

The Game Development and Design Program (formerly the Game and Mobile Media Applications – GAMMA – Program) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate certificate program for students of the Arts and Entertainment Technologies and Computer Science departments. Students majoring in these areas take pertinent courses within their respective program of study in preparation for the Capstone Course. Visit the Admissions page for more information on applying to the Game Development and Design Program Program.
